Flower Power Floral Trends

Although it’s been a long time since we’ve performed there, we are definitely no stranger to this wonderful facility. The maximum capacity is 300 and I think we’ve figured out how to utilize every square inch possible while maintaining a decent size dance floor.

While we were reviewing the itinerary, the company that is taking care of the wedding reception for tonight showed up. It’s always good to see Paul Kennedy and I know that the food tonight will be excellent under his direction!

I’m not going to promise to work on it daily but updates will be happening at least weekly. Currently, the DJ companies are six total, the wedding planners are up to seven. Photographers and videographers will start off as all-encompassing as possible (probably a hundred total) and then later down the road those categories will have stringent requirements that they will have to pass to stay listed.

One of the biggest reasons to get this website up and running is to have a comprehensive list of wedding ceremony and reception locations with embedded spreadsheets so brides can easily select the place that’s perfect for her!

We feel the same way. All of our older music is PURCHASED and the newer music is LEASED through a DJ music service. They created the music that we play and they should get compensated.

Unfortunately, most of the DJs, karaoke jocks and several of the bars in the area are operating illegally. It’s a shame that they feel they have to steal to make a living.

Speaking of the buffet line, there were some of the same items on the buffet that patrons can get, along with squash casserole, fried fish and other southern favorites.

Mobile Music 1 Joins The ADJA

More often now, we see the bride and groom at a sweetheart table and the wedding party with their dates at a couple of designated round tables. Many times, the parents and grandparents are also mixed in with them at those reserved tables.

Perfect to see old friends, create new business relationships and help couples host their first social event as husband and wife!

UPDATE:

It was a bit risky but we felt the weather was going to hold off for several hours so we chanced the wedding ceremony on the back lawn of the King and Prince. Thank God for smart phones and web surfing the Weather Channel! Our Bosnian bride and groom showed they were very much in love during the ceremony and while their families were giving heartfelt toasts at the reception. Too bad we couldn’t speak their language!

I truly enjoy taking care of newlywed military couples. He opted for the suit instead of the uniform and matched the groomsmen. It was slightly hotter than normal on the patio deck of the Avia and both of them had written their vows. A very personal touch that will tug on your heartstrings. Jim Byous performed the ceremony and this was our first time working with him in this capacity. Awesome job! He added some great touches instead of just going through the motions.

The hors d’oeuvres, various cheeses and very tasty crackers were served shortly afterwards. We didn’t get a chance to try the shrimp and grits but the fried green tomato slices were fantastic with the sauce.

Everything went well with the reception. Lisa and the staff kept everything moving along. Sheila pointed out that they were the quickest on getting out the salad and dinner out that we had ever seen. Also, they were just easy to work with. Always smiling, checking to see if we needed anything and everyone worked together as a team. They were perfect!!

Dinner was exceptional and the groom remarked how good the cake was. For toasting, the staff was accommodating to make sure everyone that was toasting had a glass of champagne. We had a blast with a packed dance floor and the bride’s father kept the bar open an hour later than the original plan and that’s a good sign that everyone was having a blast!

The big storm that knocked out power over several parts of Savannah hit as we were loading up and we traveled home in one of the worst thunderstorms I had seen in a while and the biggest display of lightning for over an hour! We were both glad to be home safe and in dry clothes!

I feel sorry for the poor souls that had to endure the sweatiest Father’s Day then very next day because service wasn’t restored to their neighborhoods.
